Programming robots doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Plenty of companies are working on making the process even more intuitive for robot operators. Purdue University researchers have now developed an augmented reality smartphone app for robot task planning and programming. Users will be able to record a motion path and task list for robots in home and industrial settings.
Users will be able to rely on this app to show robots what tasks they should perform and how. After programming, the user will have to drop the phone into ta dock attached to the robot. The smartphone acts as the eyes and brain for the robot.
