CuBLOCK Review: Clever Modular Multifunctional Power Strip Tested

Check out these uniquely awesome ✔️ iPhone gadgets & gizmos

We have all owned basic power strips in the past. They are quite handy but limited in what they offer. For instance, many of them can’t handle too many thick adapters. They don’t let you change their layout, nor can they be upgraded. The CuBLOCK aims to change that. It is a modular power strip that lets you easily change socket type and direction. It also has a sensor lamp, Bluetooth speaker, 45W GaN fast charger and other modules for you to choose from.

The good folks behind the CuBLOCK were kind enough to send us a unit to review. Ours came with 5 modules, including 3 socket cubes, a USB-C/A charger, and a sensor lamp. We also got a protective cap. The power strip was a little bit thicker than our old one but not by much. The modules are entirely interchangeable. They have grooves that allow you to change orientation 90 degrees. That comes very handy when you are dealing with large adapters.

Our kit came with a gorgeous touch controlled light module with 3 brightness levels. You can make it brighter with a tap on top of it. You can also change the order of these modules easily. The locking mechanism is pretty simple and can withstand 20lbs of force. That means you don’t have to worry about the cubes getting loose.

The CuBLOCK is smartphone and tablet friendly with its 45W GAN charger that has USB & USB-C ports. It also comes with overload protection. We were able to plug-in our power station and Alexa controlled heater with no problem. It even handled our tesla coil with no issues.

Overall, we found the CuBLOCK to be quite a clever power strip with plenty of handy modules, with more in the works, including a Bluetooth speaker cube and AC socket cubes for various countries. This power strip is pretty simple to use, with a locking mechanism that is solid and reliable. We would love to see a larger version of this power strip in the future with support for 8 or even 12 cubes. You can find this product on Kickstarter at the time of this review.
