WordPress needs no introduction. Most popular blogs around the Internet use WordPress to manage their content. The software is web based, so it does not matter whether you are using it on your desktop or your mobile phone as long as you have access to an interface that is easy to work with. WordPress 1 for iPhone was a decent piece of software that made it easier to blog on the go right from iPhone. WordPress 2 is that much better. It’s interface has been improved to make writing posts and uploading images and videos much easier.
WordPress 2 is a new app. So if you are hoping to just upgrade from the previous version, you are out of luck. The good news is that you can continue using the first version if you don’t like this new version. As you can see in the figure below, the interface now makes it much easier to easily switch between comments, posts, and pages easily. Post management has gotten easier as well. WordPress 2 will automatically save your posts just in case your connection goes down. So you won’t lose your work if there are network issues on the road.
The developers behind WordPress have added persistence to the app. WP 2.0 opens in the most recent blog that you have used. It also takes advantage of keychain to store your passwords.
The bad news is that the app seems to be suffering from some minor issues (which will probably be fixed with a quick update). We got a few XML errors on our app, and it wasn’t able to understand our username/password set a few times. Once you do get the app to work with, it’s a pleasure to use. It’s not perfect, but WordPress 2 is much more user friendly and great for mobile blogging.
