In the future, what we wear could help us power our devices. We have already covered shoes, chairs, and other everyday products that can generate energy for your phone or tablet. The Wearable Solar clothing line with embedded solar panels allows you to gather energy to charge your gadgets as you walk. Of course, you need to live somewhere that gets sunny days most of the time.
Gelderland Valoriseer’s Christiaan Holland, fashion designer Pauline van Dongen, and solar-tech guru Gertjan Jongerden are behind this idea. You won’t have to do anything but wear these to start generating power for your gadgets. We are not sure what the limits are here. Can you harness enough power to charge an iPad? That remains to be seen. The Sci-Fi looking design is probably not for everyone.
The idea here is pretty interesting but we would love to see more practical designs. There is no doubt we are going to see many more awesome solar-powered wearables in the coming years.
