We do not know what it is about White iPhone that has mesmerized some people. While the color is different, the device is still an iPhone. White iPhone has been delayed a couple of times already. It is understandable to see Apple fans become fed up with all these delays. The opportunity is there for entrepreneurs to make some quick cash by offering iPhone owners ways to change the look of their device. But selling white iPhone parts is a no no. That’s what Fei Lam from Queens has found out.
This 17 year old started a business selling white iPhone parts. He speaks fluent Chinese, which helped him get in touch with a few Chinese manufacturers to get his hands on white iPhone parts. His small business generated $130,000 in sales. Now Apple is going after him over “stolen goods.”
With the coverage that Fei’s website received on top blogs such as TechCrunch, he was able to make enough sales to afford college and have funds for his future startups:
I’m very thankful, cause for months I was struggling for an idea that would bootstrap my first startup and help pay for college,
That was before Apple hired a private investigation firm to go after all those “fake” white iPhones. If Apple is proven to be correct with this, the future may not be so bright for Fei Lam. He has no intention of bringing his website down. Will Apple go after him hard? Wouldn’t it be just easier to release white iPhone already? Entrepreneurs may want to think twice before crossing Apple in the future.
