Many business professionals have been hoping for Apple to add video chat capability to the next generation iPhone. After all, you can do almost everything else for business on the device. It seems Apple has been listening as video chat functions seem to be available in iPhone SDK 3.2. 9To5 Mac was able to discover video chat icons and strings in iPhone SDK 3.2.
We have been hearing a lot of rumors about iPad getting a camera module in the near future. It’s probably much easier to do a video chat an iPad, though I doubt Apple would limit itself only to the iPad. On the one hand, we can’t read too much into these icons and hidden codes that can be found in iPhone SDK. On the other hand, people have been able to predict Apple products and features with this approach.
There is no doubt that Apple and AT&T are preparing themselves for some big things in the future. Apple has already limit the download limit over 3G for iPhone. Both companies understand that video is the present and the future. So adding vChat capability to next generation Apple gadgets makes sense. But don’t expect Apple to add this feature to the iPad when it goes on pre-sale next week.
