Tim Cook is not Steve Jobs. We already know that. But his latest move showcases the new leadership style at Apple. Apple CEO has issued a public apology for all the trouble Apple customers have had with the new Maps app. It is no secret that Apple had to dump Google Maps to gain more control over the features it wants to offer to customers. The move has not gone smoothly. The company’s CEO has now apologized and suggested alternative apps for customers to try:
It is very interesting that Mr. Cook is suggesting people who are not happy with Maps should try other maps apps available in the App Store or Google/Nokia maps. That is quite an eyebrow-raising statement coming from a CEO of a huge company like Apple. It will be interesting to see how that is perceived by Apple fans and the investors.
