Steve Jobs has left us! He has abandoned us, and the future looks bleak. OK. It’s not that dramatic, but Steve Jobs is taking a break to deal with his medical issue. No-one really knows what’s going on with him, but it seems his cancer has reoccured at worst.
Steve is a transformational figure for Apple. He reinvigorated the fire in the company and pushed it to new heights. But Apple does not need Steve to reach new heights. I do believe that they may suffer from some low moral among employees. And then there is market analysts being worried about the future of Apple. But I fully expect Apple to bounce back and continue its innovative ways.
This also could serve as a test for Apple to see how the market reacts to Steve Job leaving the company. I am not sure how long Steve will be around but if he has cancer (I hope not), I doubt we will see him back. If that is the case, then the new CEO should be forceful and leave a good first impression to calm things down. Tim Cook is no Steve Jobs, but he can make his own legacy. Will be interesting to watch!
