Sony has a couple of awesome smartphone lenses for iPhone and Android smartphone owners to be excited about. Sony DSC-QX10/QX100 lenses attach to your smartphone and turn it into a DSLR-like quality camera. These connect to your phone via NFC/WiFi. The Sony DSC-QX100 has a 1″ sensor and a Carl Zeiss f/1.8 lens. Images are saved to your phone’s memory automatically. You can use the companion apps to edit and share photos instantly.
The Sony DSC-QX10 lens happens to be the more affordable option here. It gets you 10x closer to action and works in a very similar fashion to its more expensive sibling. You can uncouple it from your phone and mount it for more flexible shooting. The QX10 has a back-illuminated 18MP 1/2.3″ Exmor R CMOS sensor (20MP for the QX100 lens). Both lenses will be released on September 25.
