Sirius XM Finally Comes to iPhone
1A few months ago, I thought it’d be very logical for Apple to do some deal with XM or Sirius to bring Satellite radio to the iPhone. That was before iPhone SDK was even available. It may be a little late, but after all these months we are finally going to get Sirius Satellite radio programming on the iPhone. Sirius is serious trouble, and they need all the help they can get to survive in these tough times. I am just not sure how the iPhone/iPod Touch owners will treat a premium radio service such as Sirius.
The guys at Sirius/XM won’t be offering their service for free. That is why I said they were late to the game. When we didn’t have a SDK on the iPhone, Sirius had its chance to get a few more customers. But there are so many music application available on the iPhone that I am not people are ready to spend $10 to $20 a month to get satellite radio on their phones. Sirius is serious trouble, and its hands may be forced. If it offers an affordable service for the iPhone platform, it may survive. But it will all come down to how much it will offer for how much.
Your take: how much would you be willing to pay for Sirius Satellite radio service on your iPhone?
