SIM-less iPhone w/ 8MP Camera Coming?
0What a better way to start a new week than reviewing more next generation iPhone rumors. We have hearing for quite some time that iPhone 5 would not be making its debut in 2011. Apple does not seem to have a plan to introduce a new phone with major design changes this year. An anonymous source close to Macotakara is now claiming that iPhone 4s will have an ARM Cortex-A9 processor, a 8MP camera, and a SIM-less design. These folks have predicted a few things right in the past, so this is a rumor worth entertaining.
The idea of iPhone having a 8MP camera is nothing new. We have been hearing about it for months now. Devices such as iPhone have already killed off mini cameras such as the Flip. Flickr stats clearly show that iPhone’s camera is one of the most popular cameras out there. iPhone 4s is expected to be a global phone with a SIM-less design. That means AT&T and Verizon iPhones of the future will have the same pieces of hardware inside. This rumor suggests iPhone 4s will be released in July or early August.
From all the rumors that we have heard, it seems iPhone 4s will be an evolutionary upgrade over its predecessor. It will have a better, modified screen and more power. At the same time, Apple won’t be making major changes to its design. There are also rumors that this new device will be launched through T-Mobile and Sprint as well.
iOS 5 is worth being excited about too. As the above video mock-up by designer Jan-Michael Cart demonstrates, iOS 5 will bring widgets to our phones. Apple plans to slowly but surely merge its desktop and mobile operating systems. iOS 5 is just the beginning.
