Why not? That’s my main question. A couple of weeks ago, a few bright minds on the Internet noticed that AT&T was planning to offer free Wi-Fi access to iPhone users through its hot-spots around the country. That was truly some great news as I do believe that AT&T has been the weakest link by far in the Apple-AT&T relationship. Having said that, AT&T decided to remove the disclaimer and completely ignore calls from angry customers about this. That’s some way to keep your customers happy.
I admit that having access to free Wi-Fi would make me see AT&T in a whole new light. After all, why offer Wi-Fi functionality if you are not planning to offer a complementary service such as free Wi-Fi. AT&T needs to realize that Apple iPhone users are fairly different from other smart phone users. The expectations are much higher when you are dealing with Apple, and it’s time those service expectations were met.
Sources are claiming that AT&T will indeed offer this feature in the future. Regardless of what AT&T does, I still believe that people need to have the option to choose the service they want. That means, unlock iPhones are best gift Apple can give to its loyal customers.
