These next few weeks are going to be exciting times for gadget addicts, even those who are not a fan of Apple products. Apple is expected to bring its iPad mini and iPhone 5 to the market in the next couple of months. It seems the company will hold separate events to announce these products. The iPhone 5 will be announced on September 12th. It will most likely ship starting September 21st. Multiple sources are now suggesting that the iPad mini event will be some time in October.
This move does make a lot of sense. The iPhone is simply too big of a device to share an event with the iPad mini. Besides, Apple has enough products to launch in October to keep the attention of consumers. John Gruber of Daring Fireball has theorized that the September event could be only about the new iPhone and iOS 6, leaving the new iPod Touch, iPad mini, and iPods for an October launch. Having two exciting product launch events could generate a ton of momentum for Apple too.
Speaking of product launches, we are soon going to see Amazon’s new tablets and e-readers. The company has chosen September 6th as the date for a major announcement. To be clear, Amazon has not said a whole lot about this event. But when it holds events like this, it usually has a new product to announce. Most experts expect the company to introduce multiple tablets and e-readers. Will a 10.1 inch Kindle Fire be ready for a September launch? We will have to wait and see.
