Samsung’s Super Bowl Ad Goes After Apple
0The Super Bowl is quite a spectacle even for those who are not addicted to NFL football. Many folks watch the event for its halftime show and the commercials that play during the game. Samsung took its opportunity to promote the Galaxy Note in front of the millions who watched the show. It also took shots at Apple in the process.
Samsung portrays Apple fans as a bunch of brainwashed folks who wait in lines to get almost the same phone they got the year before. The ad suggests that picking up a device such as the Galaxy Note would set these people free. To be fair, Samsung has every right to tease Apple about not releasing the iPhone 5 last year. But those who know anything about phones know how superior the iPhone 4S is to its predecessor.
Samsung did not go out of its way for its Super Bowl commercial this year. Those familiar with Samsung’s ad tactics for the past should have expected this. Interestingly enough, some of the videos used in this piece were shot by the Galaxy Note itself. The good news is the competition between Apple and Samsung is not stopping anytime soon. When these companies compete, consumers end up winning. We have a feeling that people will go back to those long lines when the iPhone 5 hits the market.
What’s your take? Did this ad do anything for you?
