We have heard all kinds of rumors about the upcoming Microsoft Office software for iPad. The latest one suggested that Office for iOS was going to be released by the end of 2013. Multiple sources are now reporting that the project has been delayed. According to Mary Jo Foley from ZDNet, the project will go forward in 2014.
Microsoft expert Paul Thurrott has an interesting theory on this development:
My theory is that given the obvious internal debate over the pros and cons of Office on iPad inside Microsoft, a deal was struck: Yes, the Office team could agnostically support non-Windows platforms with the Office 2013 wave of products. But it needed to wait until Windows 8/RT was firmly established in the market.
By the time the software is released, Microsoft will have reached millions of homes with Windows RT and Windows 8. Considering that Windows RT’s launch has been a mess, it will be interesting to see where Microsoft goes from here.
We have covered many decent iPhone amplifiers here in the past. These accessories enable you to get louder, clearer sound out of your device. The iPlifier for iPhone 5 is an ultra-portable amplifier for your smartphone. It connects to your phone’s Lightning port and directs the sound towards you. The iPlifier is expected to work with most iPhone cases.
The iPlifier is simple but improves your iPhone experience. It is easy to carry around too. The project is being funded on Kickstarter.
