Microsoft is desperate to generate more sales for its own Surface devices. But it is not forgetting popular platforms such as iOS. It has released a fairly limited office application for Office 365 subscribers. The app is optimized for iPhone and allows users to access their Office documents that are stored on SkyDrive. Since the app is cloud-enhanced, you will be able to access the documents you have recently used on your computer.
Keep in mind that you need to be an Office 365 subscriber to use this. The app can open Office documents attached to emails. Users can edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. Changes can be done offline. Edits may be saved to SkyDrive or SharePoint. While the app is a bit limited, it could prove useful for Office 365 users.
Speaking of iOS, Apple has made some major changes to the platform. iOS 7, which will be released this fall, has a more flat and polished user interface. Apple has introduced a number of features that users have been asking for. For instance, did you know that you can now zoom while recording videos on your iPhone? Prior to iOS 7, this was possible using third party applications and tweaks.
As iDownloadBlog has covered, you can zoom in while capturing videos and take still photos to save to the Camera Roll without disrupting your video recording process. While these features do have some limitations, it is certainly nice to have them in iOS.
