Have you ever wondered why you can’t get lucky and receive the phone you have ordered from Apple a couple of days early? After all, companies such as UPS do deliver packages ahead of time once in a while. It seems many folks are curious about that and have been contacting UPS to find out. UPS has posted a note on its website explaining what iPhone customers should expect:
That should explain everything. Apple has required the shipper to deliver on a certain date. No delivery will be made ahead of time. Friday is the official launch day, and you won’t be getting rewarded for pre-ordering early. Of course, you could always stand in line if you can not wait for the UPS driver to arrive at your place.
The iPhone 5 may not be here. But hackers seem to have managed to jailbreak iOS 6 already. The iPhone Dev-Team has already managed to get “redsn0w” tethered jailbreak working. Unfortunately, it is only for A4-powereed iPhone 4, 3GS, and 4th gen iPod Touch at this point. While the instructions are pretty clear, we will have to wait a bit to see this solution released for the iPhone 5. That should not take too long.
