Liquidmetal-Based iPhone 5 Coming In June?
0We have heard some crazy iPhone 5 rumors in the past few months. Before the iPhone 4S was announced, everyone expected Apple to introduce the iPhone 5 last year. The next generation iPhone is a big deal to Apple. The company has a pretty solid position in the smartphone business but needs to deliver big. The Korean site ETNews is suggesting that Apple will use the Liquidmetal alloy to replaces the phone’s glass back.
iPhone5 is likely to take liquid metal, an alloy of zirconium, titanium, nickel, copper and so forth having an outer surface smooth like liquid. The new iPhone is expected to make its debut at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco in June.
The last part does give it away a bit. Most experts don’t expect Apple to have the iPhone 5 ready before September. The claims of a metal back for iPhone are nothing new though. In fact, some expected Apple to go in that route last year. At this point, there is no way for us to confirm this.
This year we have heard plenty of rumors on the iPhone 5 and iPad mini devices. Apple will likely decide not to release a smaller iPad. But it will have to deliver big with the 6th generation iPhone to continue its momentum and keep investors happy.
