Not everyone is a fan of Apple’s new Lightning port. Many of us were used to the old connector and have accessories that are compatible with that. To be fair, Apple is releasing Lightning to 30-pin adapters. In fact, Apple has started sending shipment notifications to the first wave of customers who ordered those adapters. The company seems to be experiencing some shortage when it comes to these adapters. So if you ordered late, you may have to wait a bit.
Apple is offering two versions of this adapter. There is a plug adapter that connects your devices directly. You can also get the adapter that has a short cable attached to it. These will cost you $29 and $39 respectively. If you have older docks and accessories you need to connect to your iPhone 5, you are going to need one of these adapters.
