By now, we know too well how successful the iPhone 4S has been for Apple. Even though many fans were disappointed they did not get a bigger upgrade, it seems they still went out to pick up their own iPhone 4S devices. But make no mistake about it. Apple plans to offer major upgrades with the next generation iPhone. A “reliable” source has told 9to5 Mac that the device is gearing up for production. Allegedly, sample products are already floating around.
This latest rumor suggests that the iPhone 5 will have a 4+ inch display. Neither of the sample devices seem to have the iPhone 4/4S form factor. A teardrop iPhone is not happening though. Not this time around anyway. It is worth noting that these sample iPhones are not finalized at this point. Things can change quickly in the iOS world.
Apple may be bringing a killer new phone to the market this year, but it will also have to deal with more attacks from its rivals. Motorola has decided to go after Apple over iPhone 4S and iCloud. A new lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, claims Apple is infringing on six of its patents.
Apple’s war against Android product makers has been getting quite expensive for the company. The Guardian reports that Google specifically gave Motorola permission to go ahead with its lawsuit. The agreement between Motorola and Google requires that. The way things are going, a direct legal clash between Apple and Google seems inevitable.
Your turn: What’s your take? Are you impressed with the latest iPhone 5 rumors? Does Motorola have a case against Apple?
