It is no secret that Apple will be releasing the iWatch in the future. We don’t know when exactly that will happen but Apple won’t be the only company doing that. Microsoft, Samsung, and even Google are also planning their own smartwatches. But will people even buy these when they hit the market? According to 451 Research’s survey, only 19% of people are likely to pick up an iWatch,
1713 people were polled as a part of this survey. The data shows that only 5% of those polled were very likely to get an iWatch with 14% being somewhat likely to pick one up. 66% of those asked were not too interested in the device. We don’t read too much into these results though. Apple may not always have the very best products on paper but it does a marvelous job marketing what it sells. Besides, the company has not released any information on the watch, so we don’t even know what it will be truly capable of. We will have to wait a few months to hear more about this project.
Who needs an iWatch when you can get a car that is iPhone friendly? That’s what the new Volkswagen iBeetle offers. According to VW, this will be one of the “first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple.”
The newly designed docking station is located centrally on the dashboard of the Beetle: the iPhone simply snaps in to integrate it with the car. Essentially, all iPhone functions can be used in the Beetle; the iPhone can be used to navigate, make calls hands-free, listen to music, and much more.
The Beetle app lets drivers connect their phone to the Beetle wirelessly. Spotify, Reader, and Postcard could all enhance your driving experience. Even considering all these features, we still doubt people will buy a car just to connect their iPhone to it.
