Apple fans love to play with the latest Apple products. Sometimes, there is not much to talk about, which makes Apple fans to get in the business of talking about rumors and even coming up with new ones. The iPad stories just do not go away. A lot of people were expecting to see a hint from Apple in its past event, but Apple has been mum on the whole issue. That hasn’t kept people from talking about the potential models, the wireless carriers for the iPad, and much more. But what has the web buzzing about the iPad is the rumored release date, which appears to be some time in February 2010. Nobody knows for sure if that date is indeed correct. However, the timing does look to be right. Here is what TEN had to say about the device:
The tablet PC features a 9.6-inch screen, finger-touch function and built-in HSPDA (high speed download packet access) module, and adopts a P.A. SEMI processor chip and long lasting battery pack, selling for between US$799 and US$999.
It seems Apple is not coming up with only one model (are you surprised?). Another rumor that is going around suggests that Apple is working on 13″ and 15″ iTablets. Add the 10″ model to the mix, and we could have three iPads to choose from. Now I am not sure if Apple will introduce all these in one event, but it’s certainly not out of the realm of the possibility. According to Gizmodo, one of these models will run on Mac OS X:
the two touchscreen prototypes—made of aluminum, but on the shape of big iPhones—were in a factory in Shenzuen, China. One of them “was running Mac OS X 10.5.”
The virtual keyboard that you will get with the latest Mac OS software has added some momentum to these rumors. I doubt Apple meant to give us a hint about the upcoming tablet product with the Mac OS vkeyboard, so a lot of people may be reading too much into it. The good news is that Apple seems to be working on “something.” The bad news is that these rumors are all suggesting that at&t will get the first shot at iTablet. Yet another reason to be mad with at&t and Apple both.
Your take: what feature would you like to see offered with these tablets? Would you pay $999 to get one?
