iPhone HD, Verizon iPhone In The Works?
0We may be only a couple of days away from iPad’s official release date, but that hasn’t stopped experts from speculating about the next generation iPhone. After all, the mobile business is where Apple is making a significant portion of its revenue. This time around, Apple intends to release two different models of iPhone and one model can be coming to a Verizon store near you. Apple and Verizon have been going back and forth about the possibility of the phone making its debut on Verizon’s network. A CDMA-based iPhone does give Apple a whole new way to grow its mobile business and keep up with Android.
Apple may have been hesitant about taking a chance with Verizon due to the company’s plans to switch from CDMA to LTE. But changes such as that do take a bit of time, and Apple may be finally ready to pull the trigger. These rumors wouldn’t be fun if they didn’t cover the specifications of the device. Apparently, the next generation iPhone will support multi-tasking, features a front-facing camera, and will have an A4 processor.
Things get much more interesting when you pay attention to Engadget’s claims. The next generation iPhone may be called iPhone HD, and we may all hear more about it on June 22nd. But these rumors don’t cover everything. For starters, we do not know whether Apple plans to bring the new iPhone to Sprint network. Apple has realized that in order to keep up with Android and continue its growth, it needs to go beyond AT&T. Bringing CDMA iPhone to Verizon is a good start but just a start regardless.
According to various reports, AT&T may get an exclusive deal for the new iPhone. And WiMax and LTE iPhones could be in the works for the future. These are all rumors, so it’s tough to say they will happen as predicted by their sources. What’s not a rumor is the debut of iAds which is imminent. Apple is finally taking its plans to the next level by launching its own mobile ad delivery system. So businesses will have an easy way to bring their ads to iPad and iPhone owners. Steve Jobs seem to think of iAds as Apple’s next big move. It’d be interesting to see what Apple’s ultimate plans are for its iAds platform.
