iPhone Goes 4G with OverDrive?
0People have been talking about the next generation for months. And we may be close to getting it in the next few months. But that hasn’t kept Sprint from playing with iPhone fans. In its latest ads, Sprint points to one of iPhone’s few weaknesses and shows you how you can go 4G with Overdrive.
It seems wireless companies such as Verizon and Sprint can’t just wait any longer to get their hands on iPhone. So if you can’t make Apple bring the iPhone to you, you get the job done yourself. Verizon has been asking its sales people to talk up MiFi for iPhone and iPad as well. Sprint’s Overdrive operates similarly. All you have to do is get one of these and hook it up with your iPhone through WiMax. It essentially takes advantage of Sprint’s WiMax network to bring your 4G quality service on your iPhone. You will need to be in a 4G area to take full advantage of Overdrive.
There is no word whether Overdrive will be compatible with iGroups. Technically, iPhone owners should be able to connect with others in their group and exchange information with a 3G, WiFi, or Bluetooth connection. But don’t pick an Overdrive up in anticipation for all the innovative features Apple intends to add to iPhone 4.
