In the past few months, we have covered plenty of remote-controlled toys for iPhone here. Playing with RC cars and drones can be a lot of fun. But if you want to pull pranks on your friends, RC insects are a better fit. iHelicopters is launching a line of iPhone controlled insects to help you have some fun with your friends with. The company will be bringing a beetle and bug to the market.
These are compatible with the iPhone 5. They work with the i-Robot app, which you can download for free in the App Store. The insects can be moved left/right and forward/back. They offer a control range of 6 meters. The transmitter and bug will run for 20 and 40 minutes per charge respectively. You can pick up one of these for $40.
You don’t always need a cool third-party toy to appreciate how fun the iPhone can be. Those of you who are passionate about art may appreciate the ARART augmented reality app. It is an exciting AR application by kei shiratori, takeshi mukai and younghyo bak that turns well-known paintings and drawings into real-time virtual animations.
ARART uses augmented reality layers to create virtual animations. This can make viewing artworks fun even for folks who are not too passionate about it. It is free at the time of this writing.
