Many Apple fans are excited about the iPhone 6. The device is expected to have a larger display and a faster processor. In fact, Apple is widely rumored to be working on 4.7″ and 5.5″ iPhone 6 models. A Venture Beat source is now suggesting that Apple will announce the new phones on September 9. The 4.7″ model will ship mid-September. The larger model will ship several weeks later. The source claims that the screens are made of material harder than Gorilla Glass.

Both these models will sport an A8 processor, running at 2.0 GHz frequency per core. They will also feature 802.11ac for faster Internet connectivity. Apple is expected to introduce an improved fingerprint reader. These new mobiles will have a NXP chip to enable mobile payments. Apple is not going to confirm any of these rumors. But none of what we have heard so far is particularly surprising.
