iPhone 5S/5C Release Date, Samsung Smartwatch Specs

I don’t know about you but we are tired of seeing rumors and videos showing the new iPhones and would love to actually hold and test these devices already. The wait is going to be over soon though. Apple is expected to announce and release the new iPhones in the next few weeks. The iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S are expected to be announced on September 10th. Apple will ship them a few days later.

The latest report from Nikkei suggests the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S will ship on September 20th. This is just a rumor but considering all we have heard about these phones, the dates seem to make sense. Considering that the demand for these phones will probably be very high, you may want to order as soon as you can to avoid shipping delays.

Speaking of new products, Samsung is determined to beat Apple to the smartwatch market. As Bloomberg has reported, Samsung will introduce the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch next month. It is a device that lets users make phone calls, access the Internet, and manage e-mails. The device is expected to be unveiled on Sept. 4. Here are the rumored Galaxy Gear specifications:

• Processor: Samsung Exynos 4212 dual core 1.5GHz
• Graphics: Mali-400 MP4 GPU
• Display: 320 x 320 resolution
• Built-in NFC for bump-to-sync, Bluetooth 4.0, accelerometer

Many of us expected Apple to release its own iWatch this year. It does seem we might have to wait a bit longer to get our hands on it though. It will be interesting to see how popular this Samsung Galaxy Gear watch will be among consumers.
