Apple Looking At Thin IGZO Displays, iPhone 5S Concept with Projectors

Check out these uniquely awesome ✔️ iPhone gadgets & gizmos

Most Apple handheld products have been getting thinner and more powerful each and every year. The iPad and iPhone product lines have come a long way since their first generation. But in order for Apple to keep and improve its position in the markets it is involved in, it has to look at ways to further improve the current generation iPhone and iPad devices. According to DigiTimes, Apple is thinking about using IGZO displays across its devices to do just that:

The sources said Apple is in further discussions with Sharp over IGZO panel production capacity estimates for 2013 and is also inquiring about whether AU Optronics’ (AUO) L5C line could be used to produce the technology.

This is not the first time we hear rumors about Sharp’s IGZO display being used to manufacturer certain Apple products. These displays could consume less energy and be thinner than the existing display technology used by Apple. Apple had to add some thickness to the latest iPad to fit a larger battery in it for the Retina display. But the company will be looking for ways to make its devices thinner and more energy efficient. We will have to wait just a few months to find out how Apple will accomplish that.

Apple will introduce a new iPhone next year. The device is expected to have better hardware but an identical design to the current generation iPhone. That has not stopped Apple fans to come up with their own cool iPhone 5S concepts though. The above video by FrankSnk3d suggests an iPhone that incorporates pico projectors to display a virtual keyboard and a full version of OS X. The design is futuristic to say the least.

The above iPhone 5S concept is quite exciting and gives us a glimpse of what we might be getting from our phones in the future. Apple won’t be shipping a device like this anytime soon though.
