iPhone 5 to Have Aluminum Backing, New Antenna?
0iPhone 4 is still one of the top smartphones around. But it is not without its flaws. The device has been severely criticized for its antenna design. Verizon iPhone did not offer major improvements over the original iPhone 4. That was also quite disappointing to some iPhone fans. According to an Economic Daily News report, iPhone 5 will have a new design and an attractive aluminum backing. Here is a rough translation of this report:
Decision to design similar to iPod touch instead of using glass is supposed that Apple seems to stop problems which are told widely damages from scratching, difficulties of painting white and weight of glass…. Antenna will be designed to penetrate cellular and Wi-Fi waves via resin made Apple logo placed case back, design of iPhone4 using side exposed steel antennas seems to be abandoned.
Of course, this is just a rumor at this point. There is no guarantee that Apple will go ahead with this plan. The idea, especially the one on antenna design, seems very feasible considering that Apple has had a very tough time getting rid the “death grip” issue.
Verizon iPhone 5 is expected to take advantage of A5 dual core processor. It will be released sometime in June or July. While Verizon is not too happy with iPhone 4’s performance in sales internally, the company is worried about customer backlash when iPhone 5 makes Verizon iPhone 4 obsolete in just a few month.
Something tells us that Verizon will find a way to make it up to disgruntled iPhone 4 owners when iPhone 5 makes its debut later this year. It is not as if people would not go and buy the new phone if given the chance to upgrade.
