iPhone 4: Apple To End AT&T iPhone Exclusivity
0We have known for a while that Apple was not too sure about continuing its exclusive iPhone deal with AT&T. The company needed AT&T to jump start the iPhone era. But not only AT&T has failed to provide high quality of service to iPhone owners, its exclusive iPhone deal does limit Apple’s growth. Besides, there is no reason for Apple not to be on multiple networks. Verizon and T-Mobile provide Apple with the chance to take iPhone to more homes, so a deal with one of those companies seems to be imminent despite the rumors that suggest otherwise.
January 27th is slated as the date that Apple announces its next great creation. Apple tablet is expected to take the world by storm and push Apple to new heights. But what people are not talking about is the fact that Apple will most likely announce the end of iPhone exclusivity as far as AT&T is concerned. Many experts are already predicting an announcement on a Verizon iPhone at this event. If Apple is to announce such a move, you can expect the company to sell a ton of units in the next few months.
The AT&T iPhone era has been a mixed bag for iPhone lovers. On the one hand, AT&T made it possible for a lot of us to try one of the best gadgets on the market when the device needed a good partner network. On the other hand, the quality issues and all the headaches that AT&T’s overloaded network brought to the table can’t be discounted. We already know that Apple iPhone can be a life-saver. But it’d be even more useful if it’s got network coverage when you need it.
AT&T shouldn’t have too much to complain about. The company is expected to get to carry Apple tablet. While it’s tough to know what Apple’s plans are in that regard, AT&T should have enough Apple products to chew on. Besides, the company has already started diversifying and adding Android phones to its line-up. Apple and AT&T are going to remain friends. They are just calling the marriage off.
