iPhone 2.0, Price Cut, What Does it all mean to consumers?
0Unless you have been living in a cave, you probably know iPhone is the hottest gadget on the planet earth. Those of you who remember the good old iPhone 1.0 days, you know what it means to stay in lines for hours just to get your hands on the Apple’s revolutionary gadget. You may also remember the backlash against Apple when the prices were dropped by $200 (even though Apple was kind enough to give $100 back to its early adopters). Now we are hearing that iPhone 2.0 will be out soon, and Apple is also planning a price cut to boost its sales. What does it mean to you and I?
For one, if you haven’t gotten your iPhone yet and are waiting for the second generation iPhone, you may have to wait a bit longer to get it (unless of course you are willing to sleep and wait in line for the 3G iPhone). But the price cut will only make it for some of us to get our hands on iPhone. I don’t remember the original price of $599 to be a problem for iPhone lovers. So I don’t anticipate Apple cutting the price yet again to discourage gadget addicts from going and picking up multiple phones.
If you haven’t bought an iPhone yet, you should probably wait for the 2nd generation iPhone. That’s a given. It will be out late June or early July, and it is definitely worth the wait. Besides, by then we may be able to figure out how the price cut will work and what’s the catch.
