iPad Mini, Retina iMacs Coming?
0Google has managed to generate a lot of buzz by introducing the Nexus 7. The company is rumored to be working on a Nexus 10 as well. Till now, Apple may have not had a good reason to bring a smaller version of its highly popular iPad tablet to the market. That seems to have changed though. Bloomberg is now reporting that Apple will bring the iPad mini to the market to keep the Nexus 7 and other 7 inch tablets in check. The new model will have a screen that’s between 7 to 8 inches diagonally.
Bloomberg suggests that the product could be released to the market in October. While Apple is expected to be aggressive with its pricing strategy for the iPad mini, it won’t match Nexus 7’s starting price of $199. At $249-299, we expect the iPad mini to be a bit more limited in comparison to its big brother. But the iPad brand is strong enough to allow Apple to heap a ton of pressure on other tablet makers.
Speaking of exciting products, Retina iMacs could become quite popular among Mac fans. Apple has already introduced Retina MacBooks to the market. The starting price is not exactly cheap but the displays of these machines are quite stunning. According to DigiTimes, a revamped version of iMac is already in the works for an October launch. Apple is allegedly looking to expand Retina technology across all its product lines.
This rumor does go against the report published by the New York Times that suggested the new iMacs won’t arrive till next year. Apple adding Retina displays to more of its products would be quite exciting. But we are not sure it is happening this year. It is more likely that the company will wait till next year to keep Apple fans waiting a bit.
