The iPhone 5 is the most popular iPhone yet. But it has not had the best of launches. The device has been plagued with all kinds of small issues, including physical and software problems. Yesterday, we covered a software patch that was supposed to fix cellular issues Verizon customers were experiencing on their phones. Apparently, some of these folks were still consuming data even when connected to a WiFi network. The problem may not be limited to Verizon phones though.
As 9 to 5 Mac has reported, the problem is not just limited to Verizon. It seems AT&T customers are also experiencing this issue. More importantly, the issue is happening to folks who are using iOS 6 on older phones. Apple and its carrier partners have not responded to this yet. If this issue persists, it will not take carriers too long to step up to work with Apple to fix this. Those who have been wrongly charged will most likely get their money back… we hope.
Apple fans have been complaining about some camera issues as well. Photos taken with the iPhone 5 could have a purple haze once in a while. According to Apple, that is a normal behavior:
Our engineering team just gave me this information and we recommend that you angle the camera away from the bright light source when taking pictures. The purple flare in the image provided is considered normal behavior for iPhone 5′s camera.
Some users are reporting that the purple haze issue happens even in normal photo settings. The source of this issue is not confirmed yet. It will be interesting to see what Apple could do here.
