A lot of folks are extra sensitive to privacy issues these days. The recent revelations about certain data gathering programs have many of us concerned. Let’s not forget that companies such as Apple can provide us with better service when we share more information with them. But some of us simply would like to have the option to keep our privacy and avoid being tracked. iOS 7 beta does have a tracking feature that allows Apple to collect data on where you have been. Let’s just say not everyone is a fan of this feature.
The idea behind Frequent Locations makes sense. Your iPhone will learn about places you visit frequently to provide you with better location-related information. Don’t want to be tracked by your phone? You will be able to turn this feature off. With this satisfy privacy advocates? That remains to be seen.
Speaking of iOS 7, it seems more people are starting to like the software. Apple has changed many things in the new iOS and given it a flatter design. Many folks were skeptical about the new design at first but recent polls suggest iOS 7 will be a hit. An online poll by Polar compares user interface elements of iOS 7 to iOS 6 and suggests iOS 7 is preferred in many areas. We will have to wait a bit to see how the average user will like the new iOS.
