iOS 7 is finally here. It gives your phone a whole new look. You don’t even need to have an iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c to enjoy the new release. Of course, it has had a few issues already. For starters, many folks have had to wait longer than they wanted to download it. That’s understandable considering how many people are trying to get their hands on iOS 7. Some folks have been complaining about battery life issues after getting the update. That can be fixed by changing a few settings (e.g. turning off AirDrop, …). Apple seems to have increased the limit for App Store downloads over cellular connections to 100 MB. You should probably use WiFi if you want to download large files anyway.
Speaking of Apple’s new products, hackers are getting busy to find holes in iOS 7 and iPhone 5S’ fingerprint scanner. An online contest on istouchidhackedyet.com is encouraging hackers to step up to hack the iPhone’s biometric lock. You won’t become a millionaire by winning this contest but there is some money to be earned here if you know hacking.
Apple claims that its new biometric system is secure. It also wants people to stop worrying about sharing fingerprints. We will have to wait to see whether any hacker can get around the TouchID system.
