A lot of Apple fans are excited about iOS 6 and for a good reason. It offers a bunch of new exciting features for the new iPad and iPhone 4S. The older iOS devices won’t get every new feature though. For instance, Siri is not coming to your old iPhone nor will it be available for the iPad 2. The 3D flyover feature of the new Maps app will only work on A5 powered devices.
Apple has already published the list of iOS 6 features that will be available for specific iPhone and iPad models. iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners will be getting turn by turn navigation. That applies to Shared Photo Streams, VIP list, and Offline Reading List. Siri and FaceTime over cellular network will work only on the latest iPhone and iPad 3. If iOS 6 is not fully compatible with your device, it is probably time to upgrade (which is essentially what Apple is forcing people to do).
Speaking of new operating systems, OS X Mountain Lion has a lot going for it. The new OS X will introduce more than 200 new features. Many of these features will be familiar to those who know their way around iOS. Those who pick a new Mac system after June 11th will be able to update their software at no cost. Mountain Lion will cost only $19.99. It will debut in July via the Mac App Store.
