Apple has big plans for iOS 4.3. With iPhone 5 and iPad 2 coming in the next few months, Apple needs to make some improvements to the iOS to continue keeping it competitive against Android and other competitors. By looking at iOS 4.3 beta, it is not hard to see what Apple is planning. As Apple Insider discovered, the company is planning to release a photo stream feature in iOS 4.3. The service will be based on MobileMe to enable iPad owners to share their photos as they take them:
Photo Stream uploads and stores the last thirty days of your photos on MobileMe and downloads them to all of your devices
This Photo Stream feature could have major benefits for iPad owners. It can make the process of taking and managing images on an iPad much easier. The cloud sync makes the process automatic. As reported by 9 to 5 Mac, Photo Stream could allow users to set up streams and let their friends subscribe to them.
The new iPad will ship with 2 cameras. It is not a surprise to see hints of new camera apps for iPad in iOS 4.3. Standalone Facetime and PhotoBooth apps could be included in this release. At least if we go by a wallpaper preview image that apparently leaked this information but has been removed already:
Verizon iPhone will have the capability to create hotspots on the go. The new iOS 4.3 is expected to have hotspot management features as well. Steve Jobs may be ill and away for now, but Apple has already planned way ahead of time. The company will continue to do well if it keeps up its current approach.
