iOS 4.1 is Trouble for Jailbreakers

More like this ➡️ here

Apple has been trying very hard to stop people from jailbreaking their phones and getting around the restrictions that has been put on regular iPhones. It may have failed to convince the government to make jailbreaking illegal, but it won’t stop throwing curveballs at jailbreakers. According to the Dev-Team, iPhone owners may want to steer clear from iPhone OS 4.1 for now until a working jailbreak solution is released:

This time of year there are lots of new iPhone owners, and not everybody knows that accepting new iOS updates is the surest way to lose your jailbreak and/or unlock. While those of you who have Cydia or TinyUmbrella backups of your FW hashes will always be able to get back to 4.0.1 if you make this mistake, this doesn’t hold for unlockers. There’s currently no known way to revert your baseband — if you update your baseband you’ll lose the ultrasn0w unlock, possible forever.

Jailbreaking a phone may sound a lot of fun on paper, but those who decide to pull the trigger on it need to stay alert and ahead of Apple’s attempts to stop jailbreakers in their tracks. The good news is iPhone Dev Team will be releasing a hack for iOS 4.1 in the near future, so there is no need to panic

iPhone Dev Team and the jailbreak community have been helpful towards allowing thousands of people hack their phones and get the most out of them. Unfortunately, Apple is not expected to allow jailbreakers to continue with their efforts. It is planning a kill switch for jailbroken devices. Considering that Sony and other companies are stepping up fight against jailbreaking, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Apple follow the same path and double its efforts.

Jailbreaking iPhone is much more straight-forward just a year ago. But is it worth trying with all that Apple is planning to do to stop those hacked phones? We will have to wait and see how far Apple pushes it.
