HTC EVO Gets Slammed

Check out these uniquely awesome ✔️ iPhone gadgets & gizmos

HTC EVO has generated a lot of buzz among consumers since it’s launch. It’s no wonder Sprint has struggled to keep up with all the demand. The phone has been dubbed by many smart-phone experts as the “best Android phone around” and a true iPhone killer. HTC EVO may be all that, but that’s not what Tech Crunch is reporting.

Let’s face it. Michael Arrington is an Android fan boy (not that there is anything wrong with that). Who would have thought of all the people who have criticized EVO, he’d go the farthest. In his recent piece, “Don’t Buy The HTC EVO, It Is A Seriously Flawed Device,” he explains how HTC EVO comes with terrible battery life. That’s not what you want to hear if you are shopping around for an Android phone:

You aren’t just charging this once a day. Or twice a day. You need to be thinking about your next power fix just about any time you are using it. I keep chargers at home, in my office, in my car, and an extra one to suck power from my laptop.

That’s the worst criticism a phone can get these days. Let’s face it. Nobody likes to pick up a phone that can’t seem to stay on. It’d be interesting to see how Sprint and HTC react to this. One has to wonder if anything can be done to address this issue.

There are plenty of companies that keep trying to upstage the iPhone, but there is a reason Apple iPhone is so popular. Apple’s iOS may be a closed platform. The iPhone may not even have the best features on the market. However, Apple does know how to offer its customers the best experience possible. That’s something other companies do not get.

Apple products are not perfect. No product is. But you don’t ever expect Steve Jobs to present a device that has a serious flaw. Platform, features, and design all matter. Nevertheless, Apple keeps proving time and time again that success in this business is all about the “experience” factor. Companies can imitate iPhone or offer super powerful phones. Unfortunately for them, the iPhone experience is not just about the phone or the platform it runs on.
