Get Ready for iPhone Ads
0Apple has managed to create one of the best mobile devices ever made in iPhone and iPod Touch. The fact that Apple had a very significant following before introducing iPhone has only helped the platform grow and move to the next level. As Apple gains access to more eyeballs, it’s only logical for mobile ad companies to jump in to try and monetize the platform. Mobile advertising platforms have been around for a while now. Even before the emergence of iPhone, there were a few companies that were trying to make a headway in the smart phone market. But the iPhone platform has made it a whole lot easier for companies such as AdMob and Greystripe.
Admob and Greystripe are working hard to bring more in-game advertising to iPhone platform. With proper funding and access to a huge market such as iPhone, these companies provide value to both advertisers and publishers. Greystripe hopes to bring more revenue to publishers while helping advertisers get the word out about their products and services. Admob has its own plans for dominating this market. And there are a few other companies that are pushing these two hard.
Inserting ads into games is not a new concept and is not the only way for advertisers to reach out to prospects. A few companies have already shown that you can generate a lot of leads by creating a game as an advertisement for your brand. It’s one thing to have your brand shown on a billboard inside a racing game. It’s another thing to own the racing game and use the game to let your prospects and customers to give you feedback and find out about your product lines. Mobile advertising is the future. Whether you are a publisher or an advertiser, there are opportunities available to get value out of mobile platforms such as iPhone. The jury is still out on how effective these types of ads can be (as far as ROA is concerned), but as long as ads don’t become too intrusive, I personally don’t care, do you?
