Facebook SDK 3.0 beta, Amazon GameCircle Released
0We are only a short while away from Apple bringing the new iOS to our iDevices. The new iPhone and a mini iPad are expected to be released in the next few months as well. In case you missed it, iOS 6 comes with Facebook integration. In order to help developers get started, Facebook has released a beta version of its SDK 3.0 for iOS. The new SDK offers better Objective C support, user session management, Facebook APIs support.
The iOS 6 will be launched this fall. The new Facebook SDK will make it possible for developers to integrate their iOS applications with Facebook (for content sharing, login, …). There is also a new website available for developers to help them get started with their projects. Many developers are expected to take advantage of Facebook integration in iOS to enhance their apps. The time to do some testing is now though.
Apple may be selling a ton of iPhones and iPads. But it is being challenged by its rivals from all directions. Amazon is not only trying to take away tablet sales away from Apple, it is developing services to make its offering more attractive. The GameCircle, the company’s answer to the Game Center, is a new set of services to make gaming on the Kindle Fire more engaging.
GameCircle will make achievements, leaderboards and sync APIs accessible, simple and quick for you to integrate, and will give gamers a more seamless and entertaining in-game experience.
The GameCircle seems to have some similarities with the Game Center. Google may be interested in developing a similar service too. It will be interesting to see how significantly the GameCircle will help Amazon’s cause.
