In case you missed it, Sony announced PS4 yesterday. While the company introduced the new platform, it did not show off the upcoming PlayStation 4 console to the press. But it did tell us that the next generation PS will be able to tap into iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. The PlayStation App turns smartphones and tablets into dedicated PS4 second screens.
The idea has a lot of potential. One could use this app to play games more effectively. Gamers could share their screen with others on iOS devices as they play. Users will be able to use the app to buy games for the PS4 on the road (they are automatically downloaded to the console). It seems we will have to wait till November 2013 to get our hands on a working PS4 console though.
Speaking of interesting products, meet EMBRACE+ for iPhone and Android. It is a fashion accessory that notifies you of important calls and messages no matter where you are. It can handle notifications for incoming calls, Twitter, Facebook, calendar, phone out of range and low phone battery alerts. The Embrace+ App happens to be customizable too. You can save multiple profiles and use a profile scheduler to adjust them.
EMBRACE+ may not work for everyone but it does have the potential to attract professionals who happen to be interested in fashion. This project is currently being funded on Kickstarter.
