We have heard a lot about how iPhone 3.0 OS will change the way application programmers go about designing their apps. But it seems Apple has grander plans for the iPhone. It’s one thing to change the software. But Apple is a big bang kind of company. They are not going to settle on anything less than spectacular with their major launches. There have been rumors about a number of new models being launched in the summer, but the most intriguing rumor is about Apple adding video-capture and video-edit features to the iPhone line. Is Apple trying to now compete with Flip as well?
Apple has a lot of work to do to get this done. First, they need to improve the iPhone’s processing power to make video-editing more convenient. And let’s hope they don’t give us a junk camcorder. The iPhone got a lot of flak for its low quality camera, so let’s hope we don’t get the same poor quality with videos.
This move is not a surprise and a natural step for Apple to make the iPhone a super media powerhouse. The way Apple is adding features to the iPhone, in a few years we won’t have to buy any other gadget. The iPhone will be a do-it-all!
