AT&T To Improve iPhone Voicemail?
0at&t may be losing its exclusivity on iPhone next year, but that hasn’t kept the company from coming up with exclusive features for iPhone. In fact, at&t is one the verge of revealing a few new features that will go live with a future software update by Apple. The Visual Voice-mail for iPhone was a great innovation, and while the new features that at&t is working on are not as significant as the Visual Voice-mail, they are still very useful.
One of the biggest issues with wireless carriers is the overage fees. It’s so easy to go over your monthly limits, and once that happens, wireless carriers will charge you fees from left and right. at&t has been working on adding an overage alert feature that lets iPhone owners know when they are in danger of going over their monthly limits. While a lot of people might not go over their monthly limit, it’s always nice to get an alert when you are about to. After all, you don’t want to end up with a hefty bill at the end of the month for going over your monthly minutes.
In a rare move to give iPhone owners more control, at&t and Apple will allow iPhone holders to disable those default voice-mail greetings from at&t. It’s certainly exciting not to have to deal with those annoying at&t messages when you place a call to other at&t customers.
These new features are all designed to save you time and money. It seems at&t is stepping up its game to prove why it deserves to keep iPhone exclusively. We still don’t know exactly what Apple is planning, but iPhone would be a much more exciting handheld if consumers had more options. If the above rumors are indeed true, it’s a good step in the right direction by at&t. Apple is also getting more lenient with its app approval policy. A good start but more needs to be done.
