Archos Ultrathin iPad Keyboard, 128 GB iPad Not For All?

Trending iPhone & iPad compatible gadgets:

We have been expecting Apple to introduce a 128 GB version of the iPad with Retina display for a while now. The company finally delivered the news yesterday. The 128 GB iPad will have the same hardware inside as other iPads. It will have a dual core A6X processor inside with 2 GB of RAM and 10 hours of battery life. The WiFi model will cost $799 while the LTE version will go for $929.

This new iPad may sound exciting on paper for its larger storage space but it is not for everyone. Casual users do store movies, games, and other multimedia content on their devices. But many of them never run out of space on 32 / 64 GB devices easily. Apple is most likely targeting professionals such as doctors, audio engineers, and video producers with this new model. Apple alluded to that in its press release:

Companies regularly utilizing large amounts of data such as 3D CAD files, X-rays, film edits, music tracks, project blueprints, training videos and service manuals all benefit from having a greater choice of storage options for iPad. The over 10 million iWork® users, and customers who rely on other incredible apps like Global Apptitude for analyzing team film and creating digital playbooks, Auria for an incredible 48 track recording system, or AutoCAD for drafting architectural and engineering drawings, also benefit greatly from having the choice of an iPad with more storage capacity.

Some experts have suggested that Apple may be getting defensive against the upcoming Windows 8 products with this move. The Microsoft Surface Pro is still more expensive than the iPad. Besides, Windows 8 does have some issues that need to be worked out. Most Apple fans are more interested to know about the iPad 5 anyway.

Speaking of the iPad, in order to use the device for typing, you are better off picking up a keyboard for it. The Ultrathin Bluetooth Keyboard by Archos is not your average keyboard. It is one of the thinnest keyboards we have seen. It is only 0.2″ thick and weighs about 0.5 pounds. This is almost as thin as your SmartCover. The Ultrathin Keyboard includes an adjustable kickstand, supporting multiple angles.

The Ultrathin Bluetooth Keyboard’s back casing is made of brushed aluminum and matches your tablet perfectly. It includes a full QWERTY keyboard and is equipped with Bluetooth technology. The keyboard automatically wakes up and puts your tablet to sleep. It will be available for $79 in March.
