Apple’s iPhone 5 Event: What To Expect
0Apple’s next major event for this year is almost upon us. Most experts agree that Tim Cook will announce a new iPhone on October 4th. The rumors have been quite conflicting on the device. Multiple leaks have suggested that Apple may indeed introduce two new iPhones at the event. iPhone 4s will be more likely be a small upgrade over the current generation Apple smartphones. iPhone 5 will have better cameras and a larger screen. A more affordable iPhone could give Apple the chance to reach more homes.
iPhone 5 is expected to have an A5 chip inside with 8 GB memory on-board. Some expert expect the device to have a larger display and provide support for 4G. We find it a bit unlikely for Apple to have a 4G phone ready for this year though. The future of iPods might be addressed at the event. The new iPod Touch devices won’t be a whole lot better than the current ones. But a white model is expected to be released.
Apple has been working with AT&T and Verizon to bring the iPhone to as many homes as possible. While T-Mobile won’t be getting the device this year, Sprint is well-positioned to do so. iOS 5 and all its glorious new features will be part of tomorrow’s events. Apple should be almost done with its changes by now. We expect iOS 5 to be ready to go just as iPhone 5 goes up for sale. iCloud will be part of the launch event as well. Some have even received invitations for the service prematurely, confirming our suspicion.
The upcoming iPhone 5 event will be very important for Apple. The company will face more challenges from Android partners in the upcoming months. Investors are interested to see how the company does in the post-Jobs era. It should be a smashing event.
