Apple to Buy Waze, iPhone 5S Coming in Multiple Colors?

Check out these uniquely awesome ✔️ iPhone gadgets & gizmos

We are still a few months away from the iPhone 5S / 6’s release date. But rumors are all over the place again. It was only yesterday that we covered rumors about the iPhone 6 and Apple’s plans for the device. Topeka Capital Markets’s Brian White has a different take on those plans. He is suggesting that the next model will offer more color patterns and sizes to customers.

In terms of more colors, we believe the next iPhone will draw inspiration from the iPod touch that became available in multiple colors… These colors included pink, yellow, blue, white & silver, black & slate… Our checks are also indicating that the next iPhone will offer customers more choice in terms of screen size. Although Apple offers a 4-inch screen on the iPhone 5 and a 3.5-inch screen on the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4, the Company has never offered multiple screen sizes for a single model. We believe this is about to change with the next iPhone offering different screen sizes that we believe will allow Apple to better bifurcate the market and expand its reach.

These are just rumors at this point. Considering that Apple is now offering the iPad in multiple sizes, it is not out of the realm of possibility that it will use a similar approach with the iPhone 5S. The color options suggestion is curious and seems a bit unlikely. Then again, Apple has been testing the idea with its iPod Touches. We will have to wait a few months to find out whether these claims have any merit.

Apple will offer more powerful iPhones and iPads in the future. It will also have to work hard to fix some of the software issues on those gadgets. We all know about Apple maps and their shortcomings. Apple is already in the process of improving them. Rumors are flying around that the company might buy Waze for its data. Considering that Waze faces intense competitio0n from larger players in its market, the time may be right for its executives to accept an offer from Apple.

According to TechCrunch’s sources, negotiations are advanced but Apple and Waze have not agreed on the final price. Apple desperately needs to address maps and navigation shortcomings in iOS. Buying companies such as Waze and their data could only speed up the process.
