Apple Tablet Rumors Heat Up
0We have been hearing about Apple being in the process of developing a super gadget for a while now. People have been giving Apple a hard time for not developing a netbook to compete in that market. Apple executives have suggested in the past that they are not interested in having their brand being associated with cheap, useless laptops. But one thing Apple folks haven’t done so far is deny the fact that they have been working on developing a super-sized tablet/iPhone. A tablet may not look that exciting on the surface, but Apple’s tablet will be a super-sized iPhone that will enable you to enjoy content on your gadget like you have never done before.
Even Financial Times is reporting the story and is even putting a ballpark release date for this new gadget. According to FT, Apple is working hard to release the hardware before the Christmas shopping season. We may even actually see the Apple tablet out in September. Big things are expected from this new gadget. Apple is working on more content deals, and what a better time to unveil those deals than by giving folks a sneak peek on a whole new gadget.
You may ask, “why is Apple tablet so important?” Apple has a great set of products, but there are gaps that Apple can address with iTablet. We have also seen how successful Kindle has been among book lovers. A 10 inch Apple tablet can effectively compete with Kindle DX as well. And watching videos on a 10 inch screen is much more convenient. Netbook manufacturers should be wary of this new tablet also. The netbook market is growing fast, but depending on how Apple’s new gadget is priced, it can be a player in that market as well. Unfortunately, the details are so sketchy that we can’t even guess what this gadget is capable of. But you can be sure that we will hear many wild rumors before the device is actually announced.
Apple can play the iPod and iPhone cards for so long. Many of us were disappointed with Apple not coming up with a whole new design with iPhone 3GS, but getting a brand new Apple product in September-December more than makes up for that.
