It has been a few months since Apple released a new iPhone or iPad. We all love our iPhones, iPods, and iPads. But it does seem that Apple won’t be releasing a new product until fall of 2013. The company did make a ton of money in 2012 but its growth has slowed down. As Tim Cook has suggested, Apple plans to change that by introducing new products starting this fall and 2014:
We continue to be very confident in our product places […] We’ve got a lot more surprises in store. This is the same culture that brought the iPhone and the iPad and we’ve got a lot more products in the works.
So what is Apple up to here? We already know about the iWatch. That is surely not the only device Apple is going to rely on to generate new momentum for its business. Mr. Cook also cooled off the 5-inch iPhone 6 rumors. Apple won’t be shipping a bigger iPhone if it has to make significant compromises to manufacture one. Will Apple have anything other than the iWatch, iTV, and iRadio to offer us in the next few months? Maybe it is going to release its own iGlasses? That remains to be seen.
It now seems that we will have to wait a few months to get our hands on new iPhones and iPads. The updated Apple Store app for iPhone now offers push notifications for delivery updates though. That means you will receive delivery status updates on your phone when you buy from the Apple Store. Apple will send you a notification when your purchases have shipped. Notifications can be enabled and disabled. This is a nice feature if you buy a lot from Apple.
