Apple computers are known for their quality. They may be a tad bit more expensive than regular PCs but they just work. We don’t hear a whole lot about Mac machines having to deal with major viruses. But that does not mean these are immune against malicious scripts. The Flashback malware attack did manage to infect thousands of Mac computers. A few security firms already have tools that show you whether your computer is infected. Apple has finally released its tool to make removing viruses easier.
This standalone tool is currently available for OS X Lion. It does not take a whole lot of space. It will go through your computer and notifies you when the malware is removed. In some cases, you may have to restart your Mac for changes to take effect:

Those of you who are not running the latest Mac OS software are not out of options. Companies such as F-secure have tools to help you identify whether your machine is infected. Apple is not expected to provide a whole lot of support for pre Snow Leopard version of OS X anyway.
